The
river was cold and shallow where I lay. The girls treading the river were
beautiful and backpacked up stream and then back down; I could be found
laying in the shallow banks of the river counting them, one, two, three. I didn't
mean to pee, but I did, gently. Why people were watching me. Not then, but
before; just as I sat in the water, I confess.
